about

Born from a Franco-Irish mixed marriage the young Kelly took inspiration from both the musique concrete of his mother's homeland and the environmental sounds of his Belfast home. His first public performance at school assembly ended in disaster as his hideously mangled recordings of mating crows drew a huge cloud of the birds to the hall where they blinded the unsuspecting pupils. Now a social outcast Kelly continued to pursue his vision through life, fixating for a period on recordings of human bodily functions: alas that these recording were often not of his own functions led to brutal beatings. He met his unfortunate end while recording the interior of a bin lorry.
